Who We ArePage United Methodist Church is made up of three one-room country churches that took a leap of faith and decided to consolidate. Under the guidance of the Rev. J. Blaine Blubaugh, Oak Hill, Rileyville, and Springfield Methodist Churches voted to consolidate and construct a new church building. On May 5, 1970, Page UMC was consecrated! Page UMC is proud to celebrate over 50 years In God's Service!
Looking ahead to the next 50 years, our vision is: Loving, Feeding, Praying, Serving. We want to be a congregation where God's love is known and shared! Come and join us! Our address is: 1062 Springfield Rd. Luray, VA 22835 |

Currently I reside in Colorado near my brother who lives at 7,000 feet in an alpine meadow near Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado. He and his wife have seven children and many grand and greats, so I moved here when I retired to see more of them when they come to visit. It has been a lot of fun, but I feel the call to continue to work in ministry to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Right now, I have two beautiful golden retriever dogs. Honey-colored Abby (55 pounds) is 5 ½ years old and was bred to be a hunting dog. She is very active and has an energetic personality. Blonde-colored Sadie (75 pounds) is 6 years old and is much more gentle and laid back, although, definitely likes to play for hours on end in the backyard with Abby. She retired from breeding three months ago just before I got her.
During seminary I lived in Arlington, Virginia and have many fond memories of my life there. I worked at Arlington United Methodist Church for a year before receiving my first appointment in Taneytown, Maryland, a few miles south of Gettysburg. Years before I worked for Arlington Dance Company as the Business and Production Manager. We toured schools in Virginia under the auspices of a Virginia State arts grant, introducing dance to schools throughout the state.
I have many interests and hobbies (youth, discipleship, birding, genealogy, and national parks, etc.) which I will share with you as I get to know you.
As your pastor, you will find that I love to visit and hear about your faith journey. Your walk with Jesus and the gifts and graces He has given to you are of special interest. What are your special passions in ministry? Do you love worshiping, reading scriptures, teaching, preaching, caring for the buildings, encouraging children, reaching out to the needy in the community, supporting missionaries throughout the world, and/or organizing the church’s ministries?
You will find that the Bible is central to our life together since it is the Word of God, the very breath of God. The never-ending study of the Triune God becomes part of the spiritual adventure that we walk together.
Your experiences, thoughts and encounters with God form us as a community. Getting to know you and learning of your hopes for Page United Methodist Church excite me and energize me as we look to the future together.
May God bless you and keep you until we meet face to face.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Laura L. Schultz
